With his appointment announced last August, Michael Bartsch officially takes over as Volkswagen Group Australia's managing director today.
Mr Bartsch replaces John White who is taking early retirement from the Volkswagen Group and returning to Canada.
Mr Bartsch, an Australian, has been based in the United States for the past 11 years. During his time in the US, Mr Bartsch was executive vice president and COO of Porsche Cars North America and most recently, vice president at Infiniti America.
Mr White started his career with Volkswagen Group in 1993 and has held positions within the Group in the United States, Canada and most recently in Australia.
"I would like to acknowledge John for his passion and commitment to our business for over 20 years. I am very fortunate to be joining an impressive team, and we wish John our very best wishes as he returns home and takes a well-deserved break," says Mr Bartsch.
Mr White will complete his handover to Mr Bartsch over the next week and will conclude his duties with Volkswagen Group Australia on October 23.
