Despite recent economic challenges and inevitable industry parts and vehicle supply shortages, Suzuki in Australia smashed sales barriers in 2022, selling 21,578 vehicles nationally. The last time Suzuki sold more than 20,000 units in Australia was 2013, recording 22,075 units.
YTD Market Share for Suzuki was 2.0%, with sales up 23.5% compared to 2021.
Champion products in 2022 were Jimny and Baleno, taking top honours with the greatest volume share, up 70% and 57% respectively. The second half of the year saw Swift and Ignis rise above with greater supply and growth in retail sales. Unfortunately, supply and shipping issues were behind Vitara sales not maintaining share in 2022.
Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automobile, Mr. Michael Pachota said it was great to witness Suzuki soar in 2022.
"I am extremely proud of our team and the result delivered in 2022. The partnership between Suzuki Australia, Suzuki Queensland and our combined dealer network continue to strengthen with a unified goal in mind – to provide the best products and industry leading satisfaction for our customers. By doing so, we've managed to exceed sales expectations last year and we'll do it again in 2023 – bigger and better!"
