Suzuki Swift Hybrid continues to live up to its title as the best value Hybrid vehicle in Australia winning significant awards both locally and internationally, solidifying its reputation as a leader in affordability, innovation, and driving performance.
Hot off the press, Swift Hybrid has been awarded the ‘Best-Value Small Car for 2025’ in ‘Money’s Best of the Best Awards’. Money’s Magazines Best of the Best Awards provides trusted recommendations, spotlighting products that deliver exceptional value to Australian consumers. The Swift Hybrid was singled out as the Best Small Car for 2025, thanks to its impressive balance of affordability, advanced technology, unmatched practicality, and affordability in the light/small car segment.
And it doesn’t stop there! The Swift Hybrid has been crowned as the cheapest new car to own and operate in 2024 by the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) and the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC). RACQ’s and RAC’s annual ownership cost survey further affirmed the Swift Hybrid’s value. Both Automobile clubs considered factors like purchase price, fuel efficiency, servicing, insurance, tyres, and depreciation. The Swift Hybrid emerged as the overall top performer, showcasing the lowest running costs for Australian motorists driving 15,000 kilometres annually over a five-year period.
Michael Pachota, General Manager – Automobiles said “From the bustling streets of Sydney to the highways of Tokyo, The Swift Hybrid has always been about delivering value without compromise. It’s not just a car, it’s a statement of what Suzuki stands for, providing vehicles that prioritise value without compromise, and our dedication to unbeatable value, innovation, and durability, wrapped in a package that people genuinely enjoy driving.”
The Swift Hybrid’s acclaim extends well beyond Australia. Recently, it was named Car of the Year 2024 by the Northern Group of Motoring Writers in the UK, celebrated as a fantastic supermini that is economical, dynamic, and highly affordable. The UK’s Top Gear editorial team also honoured the Swift Hybrid in the Small Car category at the Top Gear.com Awards 2024, praising it as affordable to purchase, low-maintenance, fun to drive, comfortable, and practical.
In Japan, the Suzuki Swift Hybrid earned the prestigious 2025 RJC Car of the Year Award, hosted by the Automotive Researchers’ and Journalists’ Conference of Japan (RJC). Judges highlighted its stylish design, sporty driving performance, class-leading aerodynamics, lightweight yet high-rigidity body, and cutting-edge driver assistance systems. The award marks the fourth time a Swift model has received this honour, underscoring its enduring excellence since its debut in 1984, becoming its own model two decades later in 2004 due to its undeniable popularity globally.
“The Swift Hybrid will continue its legacy to be a trailblazer in light car segment globally. Its innovative design and advanced technology make it a car for the times—efficient, stylish, and packed with personality. Whether it’s being crowned Best-Value Small Car in Australia or celebrated as RJC Japan Car of the Year, the Swift Hybrid proves that true excellence knows no borders.” said Pachota.
The Suzuki Swift has sold over 9.54 million units globally in the last four decades and remains Suzuki’s top-selling vehicle across 169 countries. Its remarkable performance contributed to record sales in South Africa and India, with Maruti Suzuki achieving its best-ever October sales in 2024, led by the Swift.
In Australia, it’s our second highest selling model to date behind Suzuki’s cult star, the ever-popular Jimny.
