Peugeot has been recognised in France's 2018 Auto Moto Innovation Awards, taking home a trio of awards in the Design of the Year, Concept Car of The Year and the Media Campaign categories.
Peugeot Design Director Gilles Vidal won the Design Award for the all-new Peugeot 508 as well as the Concept Car of the Year Award for Peugeot's e-Legend Concept.
Peugeot's #Unboringthefuture advertising campaign was awarded the Media Campaign Award while 'Netizens' (interNET citiZENS) applauded the radical style of the new Peugeot 508 and praised the Peugeot e-Legend Concept, a coupé blending heritage and technology and delivering a vision of an exciting future geared towards driving pleasure.
Due for Australian launch in the second half of 2019, the all-new Peugeot 508 is already highly awarded, its seductive design chalking-up six wins since its March debut.
"We are very proud to receive the 2018 Design Award for the new Peugeot 508, which crowns a completely renewed design range" Gilles Vidal said.
"[Its] dynamic style disrupts the codes of the segment with a long hood, frameless doors and [a distinctive rear glasshouse]. The Peugeot i-Cockpit® is inspired by the EXALT concept car.
"It takes the compact steering wheel, the high-set digital handset and the touchscreen-underlined piano keys." Peugeot's Design Director added.
Peugeot's e-Legend Concept, which stole the limelight at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, won dual 2018 awards to add to the three prizes already won since its unveiling at the show.
The 2018 Concept Car of the Year Award crowns this autonomous, electric, connected and customisable coupe which features four driving modes and whose desirable styling is inspired by the iconic 504 coupe.
The 2018 Media Campaign Award rewards the #unboringthefuture spot. This commercial, broadcast on both television and the web, features Peugeot's e-Legend Concept and carries the optimistic vision of the brand into the future with the overriding message that Peugeot's electric and autonomous vehicles will stay focussed on delivering maximum driving pleasure.
For four years the Innovation Awards conducted by Auto Moto magazine have rewarded automotive and equipment manufacturers. This year, 25,000 users voted in eight categories: Design; Driving Assistance;
Environment; Concept Car of the Year; Car of the Year; Media Campaign, Pure Digital Player and Equipment Manufacturer.
