PEUGEOT CABRIOLET-COUPÉ TO GO ON SHOW IN PARIS
Peugeot has released official pictures of the 206 CC, the production version of the Two-oh-Heart concept, unveiled at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show.
Scheduled for display at the Paris Motor Show (Sept 30 – Oct 15, 2000), the 206 CC is a sleek sports coupé, which at the touch of a button can be transformed into a full cabriolet courtesy of an electro-hydraulic hardtop which folds in to the boot.
Automobiles Peugeot has confirmed the car will be produced at PSA's Mulhouse production centre, eventually at the rate of 400 cars per day. And its European specification will include two four cylinder engine options, an 82kW 1.6-litre and 102 kW 2.0-litre (as found in the 206 GTI).
At just over 3.8 metres long, 1.6 metres wide, and boasting a 2.4 metre wheelbase, this compact 2+2 features an ingenious concertina design folding roof developed in co-operation with automotive engineering specialist Heuliez.
It can be raised or lowered in just 16 seconds, and maintains a 400 litre boot capacity with the roof up and 200 litres of cargo space when folded.
