Kumho's new KCA 11all position deep tread tyre is enjoying success and strong praise from fleet operators in urban bus, heavy haulage, waste and a range of other urban transport applications.

The new Kumho truck tyre features a unique high abrasive compound, which delivers long-wearing characteristics as well as good grip in wet and dry conditions.

According to Harvey Hawes, Kumho Tyres Australia's manager of truck and commercial vehicle tyres, the KCA 11 has been designed particularly for transit operations in city, urban and outer urban areas where trucks operate at varying speeds with frequent stopping, acceleration and turning.

"City transit operations are marked by the fact that loads can vary greatly and traditionally these tyres have worn rapidly because of the conditions they are asked to operate under, however the Kumho KCA11 has been designed to better cope with these conditions while also delivering maximum tread wear," said Harvey.

"Kumho engineers have designed KCA11 to deliver superior traction and good sidewall durability while ensuring low heat build up," he said.

"The Kumho KCA11 is also very easily re-treaded which combined with its other qualities make it the perfect tyre for city transit operations across a wide range of applications."

"The performance of the KCA11 is certainly impressing truck operators with its strong wear characteristics and its capabilities in marginal conditions," he added.

The Kumho KCA11 has a 16 ply rating with reinforced sidewall and utilises a unique tread compound and is available in three sizes for either steer or drive positions.

Truck operators can choose from KCA11 in 11R22.5 148/145J all position, 275/70 R22.5 148/145J all position and 295/80 R22.5 152/148J all position, with maximum load capacity ranging from 3000kg up to 3550kg for single fitment.

With tread depth up to 19.5mm the KCA11 offers superior traction characteristics, which is a reason why it has been so readily accepted in the waste disposal sector.
