The HAVAL H8 uses the latest ZF self-levelling technology to maintain a smooth, comfortable and safe ride even when fully laden.
Utilising the Nivomat system developed exclusively by ZF, the H8 rear suspension provides damping, ride control and a self-levelling function.
"Changing loads can place high demands on both vehicle and driver, with extra weight on the rear axle shifting the centre of gravity, potentially resulting in a major impact on driving performance in the process said HAVAL Motors Australia Chief Marketing Officer Tim Smith.
"In worse case scenarios, the vehicle can be difficult to control and potentially dangerous. Other consequences hit the hip pocket, with rising fuel consumption and increased tyre wear," said Smith.
The Nivomat levelling system counters this issue with a uniquely incorporated internal pump, which relies on relative movement between the axle and the chassis to provide the levelling and damping function.
"The Nivomat is installed on the rear axle in place of a conventional damper. Fully automatic, and without needing additional electronic systems, it pumps the vehicle up to its optimum ride height after just a few metres.
"It draws the energy to do so from the relative movements of the wheel and the vehicle body. For every load condition, this maintenance-free system sets the ideal vehicle height, thus ensuring a safe and comfortable drive."
Smith said the advantages were numerous, including safer handling, smoother ride, less wear on tyres and axles and lower fuel consumption.
The Nivomat self-levelling system is another example of the long list of equipment to be found on the HAVAL H8.
