The Haval H6 GT and Haval H6 Hybrid, the newest additions to GWM's growing range, have been awarded a 5-star safety rating by ANCAP.
Two additional crash tests were performed by ANCAP on hybrid variants of the GWM Haval H6, with comparable high levels of safety performance observed.
This has enabled the existing 5-star ANCAP safety rating published this year for petrol variants to be extended to the H6 Hybrid.
Safety performance of the soon-to-arrive Haval H6 GT was also assessed, and it was deemed that the same high levels of safety were carried across. As such, the H6 GT has also earned a top 5-star ANCAP result.
The Haval H6 performed well across all areas of ANCAP's extensive assessment criteria with scores of 90% for adult occupant protection, 88% for child occupant protection, 73% for vulnerable road user protection and 81% for safety assist.
In addition to GWM's new global modular platform and body structure, the H6 was able to achieve the 5-star result thanks to a wide variety of active safety systems being standard across the range. These active safety systems include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian, cyclist and crossroads detection, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection & Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
The confirmation of a 5-star ANCAP result on these two new models is confirmation of GWM's intent to continue developing a range of vehicles that employ smart technology to enhance safety and comfort for Australian new car buyers.
GWM's sales in 2022 are now 11.4% ahead of the same period last year. However, the company plans to increase its sales in the second half of 2022 by up to 50% thanks to the addition of new models such as the Haval H6 Hybrid and Haval H6 GT plus the resolution of supply restrictions that have limited further growth so far this year.
