- Available from February 2011
- Emits just 120 grams of CO2 per kilometre
- Powerful two-litre TDI with 100 kW and 320 Nm
- Advanced technologies from Audi's modular efficiency platform
Audi continues to improve the efficiency of its models, with deliveries of the now even more frugal A4 2.0 TDi e to begin in February.
The A4 TDI e consumes just 4.6 litres of diesel per 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 120 grams per kilometre. CO2 emissions have been reduced by four grams, compared with the previous models.
And yet efficiency at Audi does not come at the expense of sportiness. The new model has a powerful engine. The two-litre TDI generates 100 kW and 320 Nm, the latter of which is available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. The sedan accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 215 km/h.
The new A4 2.0 TDI e model uses the technologies from Audi's modular efficiency platform. All the gear ratios of the six-speed manual transmission were lengthened slightly, and the forged 16-inch alloy wheels are shod with 225/55 tires that have been optimised with respect to rolling resistance.
Aerodynamic tweaks to the body and a lower ride height improves the drag coefficient, while the on-board computer with efficiency program gives the driver tips about when to shift and on fuel-efficient driving.
