June was another strong new car sales month for Volvo Car Australia, and the Swedish luxury car maker is well on track to achieving 10,000 sales this year for the first time in its history.
According to national sales data released by VFACTs, Volvo sold 1083 cars In June, which was 138 more than the previous month, and represents a 64% increase compared to 12 months ago.
Volvo's award-winning XC40 and XC60 models continued their strong performance in the highly competitive small and medium size luxury SUV segments, vaulting into first place in their respective segments in June.
"June is traditionally the biggest month for new car sales, and our dealers continue to experience strong demand from buyers. We are confident that the demand will remain high and that we are in for a strong second half of the year"
said Volvo Car Australia Managing Director, Stephen Connor.
"In 2021 Volvo is consistently achieving very high double-digit growth, and we are well on track to achieve 10,000 sales for the first time in our history in Australia. This reinforces Volvo's standing as the fastest growing luxury car brand in Australia."
Volvo has announced its 2022 model range due to launch in July 2021 will be pure electric, mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid as the company forges ahead with its electrification strategy.
In August Volvo will launch its first all-electric car, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, which will be the first of five all-electric models to be launched over the next five years.
