Kumho has announced that Southern Tyre Services of Ingleburn in Sydney has been awarded its Truck Tyre Dealer of the Year recognising the enormous efforts of Michael Pope and his team of truck tyre specialists.

The Kumho Truck Tyre Dealer of the Year is awarded to the tyre dealers who have achieved outstanding performance in servicing truck and heavy vehicle customers throughout the year.

Southern Tyres Services won the award as a result of its strong focus on the heavy vehicle market and the excellent levels of service and commitment it has shown to professionalism in truck tyres.

Southern Tyres Services principal, Michael Pope, received the Kumho Truck Tyre Dealer of the Year award from Kumho Tyres Australia CEO, Mr Edmund Cho, who praised Pope and his team for the commitment they have show to truck tyre excellence.

"Michael Pope set out to create an organisation with the clients needs and expectations as its sole focus and he has achieved this by combining quality products and a highly skilled service team," said Edmund Cho.

"In the decade since Michael Pope established Southern Tyres Services he has grown the business and the client base and become one of Kumho's most important truck tyre dealers and it is a credit to the focus and drive he brings to the operation," he added.

Kumho's manager of truck tyres, Harvey Hawes, says Southern Tyre Services was the logical choice when selecting the Truck Tyre Dealer of the Year because it exceeded expectation in every one of the judging criteria.

"Michael and his team put an enormous amount of effort into doing things professionally and with a real customer service focus which is reflected in every aspect of the business," said Harvey Hawes.

"Michael Pope has also demonstrated his commitment by investing in the business with initiatives such as operating a fleet of 14 fully equipped mobile service vehicles for scheduled maintenance and 24 emergency service throughout the Sydney metropolitan area, in training his staff and in having the newest and best machinery and tools," he added.

Michael Pope thanked Kumho for the award and says it is a recognition of the hard work he and his team have put into the tyre business over the past decade.

"I've worked in the tyre business for more than 20 years and always knew there was a better way to run the business which is why I started Southern Tyre Services ten years ago," said Michael.
