It was a hard fought battle of the Supersports at the 6th Round
of the Motul Australian Supersport Championship at Phillip Island
yesterday.
Team Suzuki's Brodie Waters took the round win with two first place
finishes. Mitchell Carr on the Triumph Daytona 675R and Honda
riding Josh Hook had a second place a piece, and Mitchell managed
third spot in race 2. Hook finished in second overall due to his
higher finish in the second race.
0.131s was the greatest margin that separated the three riders as
they battled for race supremacy, knowing that the series title is
hanging in the balance.
Mitchell Carr finished third overall on his AARK RACING TRIUMPH
DAYTONA 675R, and now leads the series by a scant .5 of a point
ahead of Waters, and 4.5 points ahead of Hooks. Mitchell also had
the fastest lap over the two races with a blistering 1:37.444 on
lap 7 of the second race, with the fastest top speed of 269
KPH.
The next round moves to Queensland Raceway September 14TH -16TH ,
where the 2012 Supersport Crown will be decided.
