The new-generation Zip has simple, sleek lines. Its appealing design includes innovative concepts such as the transparent drop-shaped enclosure on the handlebar that incorporates the powerful full beam headlight and the dashboard, and the slits on the front shield and the rear sides housing the parking lights and direction indicators.

The seat is large and comfortable. It conceals a generous storage compartment large enough for a full-face helmet. It can be easily positioned at three different heights, bringing a new concept of "flexible ergonomics" that guarantees comfort and practicality for riders and passengers of all heights. This comfort solution is unique among today's scooters.

The handlebar commands contribute to riding pleasure and are more practical now with the direction indicators that reset automatically.
Additional lockable storage space is available behind the front panel and is ideal for documents and everyday items such as maps or mobile phones. The Zip also has a convenient bag hook.

The frame has been designed for urban use. It is a single tube frame with elements in pressed high resistance steel. The suspension uses a telescopic fork with 30 mm shafts.

At the rear the engine functions as an oscillating fork with a dual effect hydraulic shock absorber and coil spring.

Powerful braking is ensured by a large 175 mm front disc and a rear 100 mm drum.

The headlamp has a 35+35 watt high/low beam that generates strong, uniform lighting and adds safety.

The Zip 50 four stroke is powered by the Piaggio Hi-Per4 (4-stroke High Performance Ecological Engine Range). It has a single overhead camshaft and two air-cooled valves. This engine provides performance that is comparable in every way with two-stroke engines, while complying fully with the latest Euro 2 emissions standards. Fuel economy is outstanding - 60 km on one litre of petrol, or 435 km on a full tank.

The Piaggio Zip can be personalised with a wide choice of optional accessories - windscreen, top box, side stand, remote control electronic alarm, mechanical anti-theft device, leg cover, hands-free kit and colour co-ordinated helmet.

The Zip 50 Quattrotempi is available in Dragon Red and Shiny Black as well as metallic Cobalt Blue.
