Kumho Tyre Australia has underlined its commitment to golf, by
increasing its sponsorship deal for the Australian PGA Championship
and adding the Holden Scramble to its sponsorship portfolio.
The two-year deal will see the Kumho Tyre brand appear on an
exclusive hole at the Australian PGA Championship and a brand
alignment as a support sponsor for the Holden Scramble, Australia's
largest and most successful pro-amateur team's event.
As one of the leading tyre companies in the world, the 2014
Australian PGA Championship was Kumho Tyre Australia's first
venture into golf and its first property in the Queensland
market.
Chief commercial officer of the PGA of Australia, Steve Ayles,
was pleased with the renewal and extension of Kumho Tyre
Australia's agreement with the PGA.
"The PGA has a long-term strategic vision that lends itself to
new commercial opportunities and we are delighted to advance our
relationship with Kumho Tyre," said Ayles.
"To partner with the PGA to grow two of its most valuable
assets, the Australian PGA Championship and Holden Scramble, is
great for the development of golf in Australia and for the success
of our members."
Kumho Tyre, which has a global presence across 180 countries and
produces more than 68 million tyres each year, will run aligned
promotions linked to dealer and consumer incentives at the
Australian PGA Championship and Holden Scramble events.
National marketing and training manager of Kumho Tyre Australia,
David Basha, said the company is looking forward to supporting golf
at both international and grass roots level.
"Kumho has a proud history of supporting Australian sport, and
with the Australian PGA Championship we see a unique opportunity to
promote our brand on the international stage, while the Holden
Scramble allows us to support golf at the grass roots," said
Basha.
"We look forward to our involvement with this great sport in the
years to come."
Kumho Tyre will provide a 10 per cent discount to all Holden
Scramble participants when purchasing a new set of tyres from one
of their Platinum Dealerships, which includes Holden Dealerships
who stock Kumho tyres.
The agreement will also extend to include benefits on tyre
purchases for PGA Members.
Kumho Tyre produces a wide range of tyre products to fit nearly
any type of vehicle, including car, SUV, light commercial and
truck.
Kumho Tyre Australia has been selling tyres domestically for
more than 35 years and employs in excess of 100 staff who assist
with the distribution of more than 1.3 million tyres each year.
The Kumho Tyres distribution network extends across all capital
cities supplying well-known retailers such as Tyrepower and K-Mart
Tyre & Auto Service along with its own Kumho Platinum group of
specialist independent dealers and master dealers.
Kumho Tyre forms part of the Kumho Asiana Group, the seventh
largest company in Korea with subsidiaries across various
industries including automotive, leisure, construction and
aviation.
