- Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) joins effort to provide support to the Australian Red Cross to help those affected by the recent Queensland and New South Wales floods.
- IUA contributed a total of $179,000 to the 'Australia Unites: Australian Red Cross Flood Appeal', in the form of a $100,000 donation and $79,000 raised through the auction of an Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 Ute, on Saturday, 12th of March.
- Australian Red Cross QLD and NSW Floods Appeal has so far raised $3.9 million, with the Telethon contributing another $25.2 million to support those who have been impacted.
Following the recent devastation caused by floods ravaging across regions of QLD and NSW, Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) has joined the effort to provide some reprieve for those affected, by donating $100,000 plus an Isuzu D-MAX LS-U+ Ute—that sold under the hammer for $79,000—to the Australian Red Cross' QLD and NSW Floods Appeal.
Since storms and rainfall caused flash flooding across these two states, tens of thousands of Australians have been left without homes, belongings, power and more—unsure of when they will be able to recover. Donations to the QLD and NSW Floods Appeal will enable the Red Cross to help with evacuation and relief centres and support people and communities to recover from the devastating impacts.
On Saturday, 12th of March, television Networks Seven, Nine and Ten, all joined forces with the Australian Red Cross to raise additional funds at the 'Australia Unites: Australian Red Cross Flood Appeal' Telethon. During the Telethon, IUA pledged $100,000 and auctioned off an Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 LS-U+ Ute that sold for $79,000; with proceeds donated in full to the Floods Appeal.
"With much of QLD and NSW impacted by these recent floods, my thoughts and well wishes go out to those who have been affected, I hope you continue to stay safe and can recover from these devastations as quickly as possible," said Isuzu UTE Australia Managing Director, Hiroyasu Sato.
"In times like these, it is encouraging to see the whole country come together in support of those who need our help and to rally behind charities like the Australian Red Cross who can further provide the help that is needed."
"Isuzu UTE Australia is honoured to help where we can and encourage other Australians to do the same," he said.
To date, over 550 Red Cross personnel & volunteers have been active in the emergency response, allowing them to assist over 11,000 community members. With close to $30 million raised so far for the QLD and NSW Floods Appeal—alongside Australia's continued support—the Australian Red Cross is sure to help many more people who have been affected by these floods.
