10 October 2008 - Honda's newest four-wheeler – the TRX500FPE - now offers the most innovative options on the market today, making it more functional and convenient than ever before.

In addition to a transmission that provides push-button five speed shifting with Honda's Electric Shift Program, the TRX500 also now includes the option of having revolutionary Electric Power Steering (EPS).

The EPS system monitors steering torque and vehicle speed so that it provides more assistance for light steering effort at low speed. The most significant benefit is that the system provides light and consistent steering feel in both 2WD and 4WD operation. As a secondary benefit, the EPS system acts as a steering damper to greatly reduce undesirable kickback through the handlebars in rough or rocky terrain, reducing rider fatigue.

Adding icing to the cake, Honda's EPS system is also self-contained, totally enclosed and watertight, eliminating the need for any maintenance.

In addition to EPS, TraxLok selectable 2WD/4WD system and a torque-sensitive front differential, the TRX500FPE’s powerful four-stroke 475cc OHV air-cooled longitudinally mounted engine and super-heavy-duty automatic clutch mean there is no job too big to conquer.

Its rugged frame and suspension provide exceptional ground clearance, as do the large-diameter front and rear tyres that have been used to ensure precise handling.

The dual front disc-brake calipers feature a patented built-in scraper system to remove mud and debris from inside the front wheel, ensuring consistent braking performance.

Every minor detail has been considered on Honda’s premier ATV range with added features such as a waterproof accessory socket, uniquely designed floorboards, a thickly padded seat, and durable, easy-to-use controls ensuring all day riding comfort.
