23 February 2011 - Rugged, strong and easy-to-handle, meet the newest member of Honda's ATV gang; the TRX500FPM. Available now in dealerships, Honda's latest ATV features Honda's Electric Power Steering (EPS) allowing the TRX500FPM to do more of the work for you.

Complementing Honda's current ATV line-up, the TRX500FPM is more functional and convenient than any model before. Both speed and torque sensitive, Honda's Electric Power Steering (EPS) excels at reducing both steering effort and kickback through the handlebar reducing rider fatigue. The system provides a light and consistent steering feel in both 2WD and 4WD operation.

The powerful 4-stroke 475cc OHV air-cooled longitudinally mounted engine allows direct driveshaft alignment to both front and rear wheels for improved drivetrain efficiency. The overhead valve arrangement features angled valves in a hemispherical combustion chamber enabling straighter intake and exhaust flow for improved engine performance. Featuring an integral electric carburettor heater system, smooth operation is guaranteed in cold conditions.

Excellent driveability and towing capacity is ensured via a super-heavy-duty automatic clutch and convenient five-speed transmission with reverse. The TRX500FPM combines a convenient electric starter, with auxiliary recoil starter and an automatic internal decompression system.

Its rugged frame and suspension provide exceptional ground clearance and a water resistant left-side glove-box compartment add to its versatility. Large cargo racks on the front and rear allow payloads of 30kg and 60kg respectively and a heavy-duty trailer hitch has a towing capacity of 385kg.

Rider comfort has been considered as the controls are durable, comfortable and easy-to-use, a thickly padded seat provides all-day comfort and large mud flaps keep the dirt and debris off.

Honda advises to ride your ATV safely. Do not overload an ATV beyond manufacturer's specifications, children under 16 years should not ride adult ATVs, always wear appropriate riding gear, and avoid riding on surfaces that may affect the handling and control of your ATV.
