The MacArthur Motorcycle Club presented a great days racing for round 2 of the 2018 MX Nationals on Sunday 29th April.
Penrite-Pirelli CRF Honda Racing duo Jackson Richardson and Kyle Webster came away with steady results in both motos in MX2, now placed 5th and 6th in the Championship.
Jackson Richardson put in some heavy hours of training in the lead up to round 2 and displayed a much stronger performance on Sunday.
After taking 4th in qualifying, Richardson suffered average starts in both motos and fought hard to secure 5th in moto 1 and 4th in moto 2. This pushed him up from 7th to 5th in the championship standings, only points away from the leaders.
"I'm fairly pleased with my racing on Sunday. The bike was great, I just needed to make it easier by getting in the mix from the first corner rather than fighting so hard for too many laps to get up to the pointy end. Good result regardless and on to Wonthaggi we go," said Richardson.
Webster blasted his Penrite-Pirelli Honda to 1st in qualifying which gave the team a fantastic start to the round. However, he was frustrated with his ride in moto 1 where he was only able to take 9th after suffering from an average start.
"I just took too long to get into the groove for some reason in moto 1 and you can't give that away at this level," said Webster.
In moto 2 Webster found better form and charged hard throughout the race, getting himself into 5th place behind team mate Richardson and 6th in the championship.
Team principal, Mark Luksich was pleased with the result; "We made progress this week and sit in good positions in the championship. I know we are close to hitting some targets and look forward to the big Wonthaggi double round," said Luksich.
