The Hardcore Posties are back and this time they're taking it
overseas.
After three long years of running charity-raising rides through
the tough Australian desert, the Hardcore Postie team are shaking
the sand out of their CT110's, and heading across the Tasman to the
Apple Isle.
"Thanks to major support provided by Trailbike Adventure
Magazine, this year's run will be code named 'Hardcore TBAM Tassie
Posties'," said ride organiser Phil Hodgens.
"The action will start from the moment the little Hondas roll
off the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry at Devonport, 10 - 13 October, and
this year we have shortened it to four days to attract an even more
diverse range of CT110 riders."
The event will raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis, an illness
that affects almost 15,000 Australians, and whilst there is no
entry fee, riders must cover their own costs and prepare their own
bikes.
Entrants must raise a minimum of $500 for MS through their own
fundraising campaigns or simply by making a tax deductible
donation.
Riders will need to be self sufficient, carrying their own food
and water and camping gear, as well as a 10 litre fuel capacity for
use between refuels.
"Tassie Route Master, Shane Streets has mapped out an off road
route that will travel a deserted railway line over crumbling
bridges, through rainforests to remote beaches and the great Tassie
icon, Jacobs Ladder," Phil explained.
"Shane reckons the ride will be challenging but achievable for
all riders with moderate skills and a good sense of humour."
