6 July 2010 - Honda has taken the CBR1000RR Fireblade to another level once again by adding an increased-diameter flywheel for further improved performance, as well as a new muffler cover for enhanced appearance, and a redesigned registration plate stay for easier removal on track days.

In addition to the ABS version being available in Graphite Black, the bike now comes in standard form in three exciting new colours including Silver Metallic and Pearl Fire Orange, Graphite Black and Victory Red, and Graphic Black and Pearl Sunbeam White.

The CBR1000RR engine is renowned for providing eye-watering top end performance, all from an incredibly light and compact package. Sleeveless cylinders save weight and allow for a wide-bore, short stroke configuration essential for making high-revving power. Pistons, cams, valves and the crankshaft are all pared down to the bare minimum weight, while retaining Honda's reputation for durability.

To further enhance the smooth, seamless delivery from the engine, Honda's innovative Assist Slipper Clutch helps maintain composure while rapidly changing down through the gears.

The Fireblade's low-slung exhaust system is true to the mass centralisation of the machine, while also providing maximum ground clearance in extreme riding conditions.

The Fireblade's aluminium frame combines the essentials of superbike chassis: strength, rigidity and lightness. Constructed from just four pieces of aluminium, the elegant design was crucial for Honda's engineers to achieve the targets of agile and secure handling while accommodating the improved mass centralisation brought about by fuel tank location, the underslung exhaust system and optimum engine position.

The 2010 CBR1000RR is available from dealers nationally now with an MLP of $17,990 (standard) and $18,990 (ABS).
