• C4 Picasso becomes the first vehicle in its class to offer a 360 degree "bird's eye view" camera standard
  • 5 seat Citroën C4 Picasso to launch February 2015
  • Significant safety specification offered across the C4 Picasso range
  • 6 year warranty, capped-price servicing and roadside assist offered across the range

Citroën's C4 Picasso will be the first vehicle to offer a 360 degree ("bird's eye" view) camera as standard technology in the VFACTS small sub-$40,000 segment.

The C4 Picasso will also be the only vehicle to offer the technology in the VFACTS small over-$40,000 segment.

The potentially life-saving feature allows drivers to sight the entire exterior of the vehicle when manoeuvring in tight spaces, reversing, or driving out of restrictive driveways and garages.

The segment-leading safety technology will be complimented by a comprehensive suite of standard safety and driver aides, including blind-spot monitor, self-parking function, reverse camera, parking sonar, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, six airbags and Electronic Stability Control.

The safety quotient can be further enhanced with an available Drive Assist Package that adds Lane Departure Warning (with seat-belt vibration alert), Active Cruise Control and Active Seat Belts.

General Manager of Citroën Australia, John Startari, says Citroën's advantage will be its high level of standard safety specification in its class.

"The C4 Picasso is ideally suited to families, so the focus on safety is non-negotiable for us," says Startari.

"Being the first vehicle to offer innovative safety solutions in this segment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring Citroën maintains its strong stance on safety and innovation.

"The Picasso nameplate is establishing itself as one of the most awarded family vehicles in Australia for design, value, drive experience and after-sales support, and the C4 Picasso will continue that trend," says Startari.

The Citroën C4 Picasso will be supported by one of Australia's longest warranty, capped-price servicing and road side assist programs at 6 years.

When compared to its larger stablemate, the Grand C4 Picasso (7 seat), the C4 Picasso is 172mm shorter in overall length, 55mm shorter along the wheelbase and 24mm lower.

This positions the C4 Picasso as a hatchback, rather than a people mover.

Pricing and full specifications list will be announced closer to the C4 Picasso's launch.
