- New G 310 GS and R feature engine updates, enhanced styling, new LED headlight and elevated design aspects
- G 310 pricing starts from $6,960* for R model
The latest iterations of the BMW R 1250 RT and G 310 GS and R models have launched in Australia, delivering key technical and styling updates that elevate their presence and offering in their respective segments.
R 1250 RT: Increased equipment, enhanced convenience, dynamic styling and world first display of navigation map in cluster
The R 1250 RT, long recognised for its broad touring ability that mixes comfort and dynamism, now features Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), BMW Full Integral ABS Pro and Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) as standard equipment.
All models offered for local customers also feature Riding Modes Pro, which enables configuration of ride qualities to individual rider preferences.
It also features a new LED headlamp with swivel function that goes one step further than the impressive LED unit of the previous RT model.
Rider convenience is boosted significantly with the addition of a new high-definition 10.25-inch TFT colour screen that can display a map in the instrument cluster. Display of the map in the cluster is a first for motorcycles.
In addition, a smartphone can be securely accommodated in a storage compartment protected from splash water and ventilated by an electric fan, while its battery can be kept ready for use inductively or via USB connection.
The Audio System 2.0 of the R 1250 RT offers an even more intense sound experience than its predecessor, elevating the entertainment offering for both short and long journeys.
A newly developed front fairing provides an updated appearance while enhancing the RT's travel and touring qualities thanks to integration of additional aerodynamic advancements.
G 310 GS and R: Sharpened throttle response, updated styling, new LED headlight and improved ergonomics
The proven 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine of the G 310 models now features an "electronic throttle grip" (electromotive throttle controller), which delivers even sharper throttle response. Automatic idle speed increase when starting also prevents sudden stalling of the engine.
The self-boosting anti-hopping clutch is additionally new.
It reduces engine drag torque and provides a significant increase in riding safety, particularly during braking manoeuvres involving simultaneous downshifting. It also offers significantly reduced operating forces at the clutch lever.
The new BMW G 310 R now has a full-LED headlight for even better visibility at night and LED flashing turn indicators for increased visibility in traffic.
The new LED headlight ensures particularly bright illumination of the road.
The three light functions – high beam, low beam and daytime riding light – can be conveniently operated using the left handlebar controls.
Both the clutch lever and the handbrake lever are now reach adjustable in four stages and provide ergonomic benefits, particularly for those with small hands.
Styling updates for G 310 models include dynamic cues that evoke the S 1000 R, while three new colour schemes deliver additional character and road presence.
